Including Amazon Alexa support.
Last year, Audi updated its 2021 model lineup with the new next-generation MIB 3 (Modular Infotainment Toolkit) infotainment system, which features vastly improved performance, SiriusXM with 360L, and a higher resolution interface.
For 2022, Audi has upgraded the MIB3 infotainment system with a slew of new features including Amazon Alexa voice support and more personalization options. Previously available as a push-to-talk function on the steering wheel, Amazon's Alexa voice assistant has been added to most 2022 Audi models equipped with the MIB 3 infotainment system and an active Audi Prime or Plus subscription. Amazon's Alexa voice assistant lets you turn on the climate control at home before you arrive, activate home lighting, or order groceries on the way home.
Apple Music support has also been expanded. Users with an Apple ID and an Audi connect Prime or Plus subscription can log into their account on the infotainment system and play music without pairing a phone. After debuting in most 2021 Audi models, SiriusXM radio with 360L is now available for the 2022 Audi e-tron GT.
For 2022 models, the upgraded infotainment system lets drivers create a profile by logging into their myAudi account to store their climate control, locking, lighting, seat settings, and preferences. Using the myAudi app, these settings can be transferred to other Audi models, which is useful if a family shares multiple Audi cars. In addition, wireless Android Auto support has been added to the 2022 Audi Q3, Q5, Q7, Q8, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, e-tron, and e-tron Sportback.
MMI Navigation plus is available for select Audi A4, A5, and Q5 Premium and Premium Plus models, while a Light Function Package has been added to the Audi e-tron and e-tron Sportback Premium. An updated route planner for electric models can also now distinguish between Level 2 AC chargers and Level 3 DC fast chargers.
Using Audi's Audi Online Car Care service, the driver can be notified on the myAudi app when certain features need maintenance or inspection and book a service appointment with the dealership if required. Audi's updated MIB 3 infotainment software will be rolled out in the summer and fall this year.
