As the car world's lighting leaders, Audi was the first to adopt full LED lights and is known for its signature LED DRLs. But as this tech has started to be come old hat, and with BMW looking to light up the roads with lasers, Audi has decided to do likewise. The Sport Quattro Lasserlight Concept is essentially the Sport Quattro Concept unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show painted Plasma Red and wearing four laser headlights combined with Audi's matrix LED technology.

The headlights, powered by laser diodes that measure just a few micrometers in diameter, have a 500-meter range – twice the distance of LED high beams – and are three times as bright. Although Audi will eventually roll out the Sport Quattro with a 2.5-liter five-pot, the concept maintains the hybrid set up that blends a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and electric motor for a combined output of 700 hp.
