It has long been this author's theory that America's closest relative, in terms of car culture, is Australia. This being because Canada is too close to really count. The Aussies love their Ford, GM and Chrysler-built big V8s, and we owe the design of such redneck icons as the El Camino and the Ranchero to the Australian ute. So it should come as no surprise that our cousins down under occasionally like a bit of "watch this" style of fun. Here, a GM product (a Holden Torana) does a burnout while up in the air on a hoist.

It is needlessly risky and fun in the way that needlessly risky things tend to be.
