Dedicated drag racing cars produce some truly stratospheric power numbers. Race cars in general are pretty impressive, but drag cars don’t have very far to travel between engine rebuilds, so engine builders can pump out the kind of power that would burn out a Le Mans car’s engine by the end of the first lap. Take this direct port nitrous system as an example. This beauty, from VPW in Australia, can support up to 3000 horsepower.
The demonstration is of a 900hp spray, only a fraction of what the system is capable of, yet it is still one hell of a thing to see.
