One of Dany Bahar's many self-indulgent projects undertaken during his reign as Lotus CEO - besides from remodeling his house - was to commission the factory to completely rebuild a 2002 Lotus Esprit V8. According to The Lotus Forums, it is now up for sale. The extensive restoration - all done less than 1000 miles ago - included a rebuilt engine and gearbox, a bespoke leather and suede interior, and a new original pearlescent white respray.

"Final Edition" options from the last 2003 models were also fitted, such as rare OZ Nova wheels, Sport350 'High Boost' ECM, AP Racing four-pot front and Brembo rear brake calipers, center exit exhaust, oversized final edition spoiler and unique round rear lights. It's safe to assume Bahar relinquished the keys to the custom Esprit when Lotus let him go. And with just 36,000 miles on the odometer the car will now be sold to the highest bidder via Lotus dealers in the UK. Interested parties better get in touch with their local dealership sharpish.
