German tuner BB Automobiltechnik (good luck pronouncing that) has given the Volkswagen T5 a performance boost. The process began by revising the engine electronics that will give the 2.0 TSI engine an output of 320hp and 365 lb-ft of torque. They also adjusted the engine electronics, optimized the air induction and airflows, increased the boost pressure and programmed a new fuel injection map.

The van can accelerate from 0-62 mph in a nice comfortable time of 6.5 seconds, up a full 2 seconds faster than the standard van. The VW T5 can reach a top speed of 142 mph, another increase over the standard version's 124 mph limit. Some other enhancements performed by the tuner include a high-performance intercooler, special oil cooling system and a custom tailpipe that helps reduce exhaust back pressure and temperature. BB Automobiltechnik also fitted the TSI engine with a different turbocharger that added to the overall performance.

Pricing for the 2.0 TSI engine is "only"€12,950 or roughly $18,558. BB Automobiltechnik also offers a number of other upgrades for the VW T5 as well. Some of the options available are lower springs (€348), front and rear stabilizers (€498), adjustable coilovers (€1,598) and finally, a 4- or 6- piston high performance brake system (€3,795).
