While the outgoing BMW X1 always struck us as a hatchback with body-image issues, the next-generation car seems to be beefing-up its game, taking it deeper into the fashionable territory of crossovers. The F48 X1 is expected in 2016, and will switch to a front-wheel drive platform that will allow for a more spacious interior. An xDrive all-wheel drive version is also expected. The car has been spotted while testing on the Nurburgring, and also receives a new rendering from AutoBild.
