With its somewhat understated and subtle work, Alpina is a company that you might sometimes forget exists. It's difficult to tell an Alpina from a regular BMW at a glance, but up close it's not hard to tell that the car here is something special. Based on the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe, the Alpina B6 you see here was photographed at a dealership in Abu Dhabi. It has been painted in Atlantis Blue with an interior to match. Not quite as subtle as Alpina's usual, but it works.

The B6 is based on the 650i Gran Coupe, and has been tuned to produce 540 horsepower. That's twenty fewer horses than an M6, but the B6 will actually get to 62 in just 3.9 seconds, 0.3 faster than the M. This is thanks to changes to the transmission and xDrive system, which make the car better at putting its power to the ground. As far as 6 Series Gran Coupes that you can buy with a warranty go, this is the fastest one in the world. It's not a terribly common car, hence the need we felt to talk about it, but we would be overjoyed to see a lot more of them around.
