The world's top 1% live very differently from the rest of us. While we spend our weekends running errands and sitting in traffic jams, the elite indulges in pastimes such as falconry and equestrianism. But they have problems, too. The supercars are no good for traversing rutted tracks found on the average country estate. Yes, there's the Land Rover - but the horses would simply laugh if you had to turn up in something as everyman as a Discovery.

However, Bentley has just the solution. It's called the Bentayga Equestrian Collection and it's about as niche as SUVs get. Inspired by the world of show jumping in Belgium, the V8-powered SUV has 542 horsepower at its disposal, more than enough to get you to the stables in a hurry. Of course, the experts over at Mulliner had a hand in creating this masterpiece and have fitted the unique Bentayga with several unique accouterments.

The interior is the biggest benefactor of Mulliner's mastery. Fling the heavy doors open and you'll find a cabin swathed in Burnt Oak leather, uplifted by the elegant Mandarin stitching. As you would expect, the exquisite seats have been treated to a diamond stitch finish, which is repeated on the door inserts. Look closely, however, and you'll notice they've been trimmed in a sophisticated (and very traditional) Herringbone Sand Tweed. Very country chic.

Rear passengers are treated to cushions which also wear the Burnt Oak and Mandarin color combination. The Stephex Masters - a very prestigious jumping event - symbol has been embroidered into the pillows as well as the seat backs. A bit of color and fun is injected by Mandarin stitching on the steering wheel, center console, and gear lever. Just in case passengers forget what they're sitting in, a "Belgian Equestrian Collection" inscription takes pride of place on the passenger side veneer.

The exterior, says Bentley, joins "two worlds into one." A Spectre paint finish lends the big SUV some visual drama, enhanced by the black-painted 22-inch wheels, sports exhaust, and carbon fiber styling kit. Curiously, the ultra-luxury brand has chosen not to show off the exterior as much as we had hoped for.

If you're looking at the Bentayga Equestrian Collection and thinking it would be perfect for exploring the vast grounds around your country mansion, you're fresh out of luck - unless you live in Belgium, that is. Just ten units have been produced and all are destined for the land of beer and waffles.

"The Belgian Equestrian Collection illustrates the creativity, craftsmanship, and individual personalization details that can be designed through Mulliner," said the company's Balazs Rooz. Mulliner has been rather busy of late. The bespoke department recently unveiled its most luxurious Continental GT, among other things. If you're disappointed that the Equestrian Collection isn't coming to the USA, perhaps the Azure First Edition will pique your interest.
