Bentley Boss Confirms: Mulsanne Convertible Back on Track

Industry News / 43 Comments

Should arrive in the next 2-3 years.

Having unveiled the Mulsanne Convertible Concept in 2012, by the time Frankfurt 2013 rolled around then CEO Wolfgang Schreiber had nixed plans to put the drop-top Mulsanne into production. However, there's a new man at the helm of the British carmaker now, and he wants to resurrect the project. Speaking at Pebble Beach earlier this month, Bentley CEO Wolfgang Duerheimer admitted he "was a bit irritated by the fact that no work had been done on this project in two years," declaring that the Mulsanne Convertible "is back on track."

The ultra-luxurious convertible is tipped to receive the Azure nameplate, with power coming from the Mulsanne's 6.75-liter twin-turbo V8 rated at 512 hp and 752 lb-ft of torque. A launch date has yet to be confirmed, but we suspect it will arrive in the next couple of years.
