It may weigh roughly the same as a male rhino, but the Bentley Continental GT Speed has over 500 horsepower.
It has 616 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque and a top speed of 205 mph. No, we’re not talking about a Ferrari or Lamborghini here. Those power and performance figures are those of the 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed. But unlike those Italian supercars, the GT Speed is a heavy sucker, tipping the scales at a beastly 5,181 lbs. To put this into perspective, that’s about the same weight as an adult male rhino. So the question is whether a car that hefty can be a real performance machine as well.
Motor Trend’s Carlos Lago attempts to figure this out by getting behind the wheel of one. It’s a far cry from what the 1920s Bentley Boys drove, but does the latest Continental GT Speed capture the spirit of what a modern Bentley should be? Check out the video to find out.
