Bentley's 100th Birthday Party Comes To America

Two new Bentley models will make their US debut at Monterey Car Week next week.

This year marks the one-hundredth anniversary of Bentley, which was recently celebrated in style at the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed with a stunning display of 30 iconic cars from the company’s past and present. Next week, Bentley’s birthday celebrations will continue in America.

During Monterey Car Week, which runs next week from August 15-18, two new Bentley models will make their US public debut. Taking center stage will be the all-new Flying Spur luxury grand-tourer, which was unveiled back in June. It may look a lot like its predecessor, but the new Flying Spur has been redesigned and rides on a new and advanced aluminum and composite chassis. For the first time, it features optional electronic all-wheel steering, an active all-wheel-drive system, and Bentley’s Dynamic Ride active anti-roll system. Power is provided by a twin-turbo 6.0-liter W12 producing 626 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque.

The all-new Flying Spur will be displayed at the Quail: A Motorsports Gathering on August 16 and at the Home of Bentley for rest of the weekend. Joining it will be the exquisite EXP 100 GT concept previewing Bentley’s vision of the future of grand-touring in 2035, which is also making its US debut.

Four electric motors offer a 0-62 mph time of under 2.5 seconds, a top speed of 186 mph, and 1,106 lb-ft of torque, and the concept also features an insanely opulent interior and advanced AI technology. Like the Flying Spur, the EXP 100 GT will make its US debut at The Quail on August 16 and will be displayed at the Home of Bentley on Saturday. It will then be part of a special display adjacent to the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Concept Lawn on August 18.

Ahead of the EXP 100 GT’s US debut, Bentley will launch a new app for Apple devices on August 12. Called the ‘Bentley 100 AR’ app, a QR code can be used to provide an augmented reality experience of the EXP 100 GT, allowing users to explore the concept car’s exterior and interior. Users can also interact with a virtual full-scale version of the car by using the app at selected Bentley retailers.

Other new and soon-to-be-available Bentleys that will be shown at the US event include the all-new all-new Continental GT V8 coupe and convertible, the Bentayga, Speed, V8 and Hybrid, and the record-breaking Pikes Peak Continental GT.
