Late last month, we learned Bentley would be revealing a new concept on July 10, 2019 to help celebrate its 100th anniversary. The British carmaker has now officially confirmed the concept will be dubbed the EXP 100 GT and revealed a few other important details, a teaser image, and video. Described as "the future of grand touring" the concept will be "a physical embodiment of the future Bentley brand." Equally important, the concept will be zero emissions and "blends technology and craftsmanship."

Bentley is not only known for its powerful engines, including today's twin-turbo W12, but also its impeccable attention to detail inside and out. Think of Bentley as a modern-day coachbuilder.

The EXP 100 GT is not only a continuation of that philosophy but provides a more precise blueprint of what the iconic UK carmaker has planned from a technological perspective in the years to come. Here's a good summary of what to expect: "Bentley's vision of the future of luxury mobility, it will intelligently and sustainably enhance the owner's grand touring experience, whether enjoying the thrill of driving or being driven autonomously."

Design wise, expect a concept that can't be mistaken for anything other than a Bentley, but one that will look unique compared to the current lineup. Bentley's design boss, Stefan Sielaff, made it clear the goal was not "to show a spaceship. It should be something that everyone knows is a Bentley and that the technology we show [is credible]."

He also previously described the EXP 100 GT as "a manifesto for how we see Bentley in the future. It's about sustainability, social responsibility, local sourcing, materials. It's a big change in our thinking because society is changing." But think about it: a self-driving, all-electric Bentley. Of course it can be driven manually, but still, it's a huge leap forward. The official reveal will happen next Wednesday, July 10, at 4:00 p.m. BST, which is 11 a.m. EST.
