The fastest, most powerful SUV on the market will be called the Bentley Bentayga. Maybe.
Bentley previewed its intent to enter the highly-profitable SUV club with the EXP 9 F concept unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. In the ensuing couple of years, we’ve seen the ultra-luxury crossover in countless spy shots and teasers, all the while referring to the new model as the Falcon. Supposedly that’s what the F in the concept’s name stood for. However, according to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Bentley recently registered the name ‘Bentayga.’
In case you’re interested, that’s the name of a rock formation on Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands. Anyway, while we know Bentley’s SUV will come with a range of drivetrains, including a hybrid and twelve-cylinder engine, and an unsightly amount of luxury goodies, it appears we also now have a name. The Bentley Bentayga. Rolls off the tongue, doesn’t it?
