The Cullinan makes its first public US appearance alongside a selection of bespoke RR creations and a one-off commission at Monterey Car Week
The imposing ultra-luxurious Cullinan SUV will be making its American debut at this year’s Monterey Car Week where it will be joined by new offerings in Rolls-Royce's own Black Badge collection. In addition, a bespoke creation named 'Phantom in Fuxia' will be presented to renowned collector Michael Fux who already has 9 unique Rolls-Royce creations to his name. This new addition will join his 140 car collection which Mr. Fux uses to help raise funds for his foundation which provides support for children and their families at the Miami Children's Hospital.
Proving that a Black Badge Rolls-Royce need not only be black in color, three new bespoke designs will also be on display. The Umbra, Paradiso, and Nebula will be joining the Adamas collections. These new designs draw on the rich heritage of Rolls-Royce to push the boundaries of luxury and elegance in this rarefied segment.
The Umbra Black Badge Collection features a matte black exterior finish, dark chrome accents, and 21-inch carbon alloy wheels. The interior is a mix of anthracite, Mugello red and black highlights with each of the three cars featuring a Starlight Headliner and 'Pebble Beach 2018' treadplates.
The Paradiso collection also comprises of a single Dawn, Ghost and Wraith model, all three finished in a striking Quail blue, inspired by the Quail Motorsports Gathering. The interior finish of each car differs slightly, however, all three feature aerospace-grade aluminum-threaded carbon fiber composite surfacing as a distinctive design element.
Finally, the Nebula Collection draws its inspiration from spacecraft and aerospace technology, honoring pioneers in the field. The exterior color is a flat grey hue called Iced Selby Grey while interior colorways feature a mix of grey, black and brown with a hexagonal motif as the central theme.
The Cullinan, on the other hand, seems like a stark departure from these more traditional Rolls-Royce offerings, but it is still as luxurious as ever while adding another dimension to this brands core attributes. The mantra ‘effortless anywhere’ underlines its serious off-roading capabilities, although it is unlikely that many owners will be venturing too far off the beaten track in one of these. Visitors to this year's event will be able to see the Cullinan and Black Badge models at various locations including Friday’s ‘Quail, A Motorsport Gathering’ and the concept lawn of the Concours d’ Elegance on Sunday.
