This year's Hot Wheels Legends tour has come to a close, so we have a winner.

With the help of some of the best-known faces in the auto industry, Texas Toot, a Kei car monster truck is this year's winner. As per previous rounds of the Legends Tour, this car will now be forever immortalized in die-cast after beating out nine other finalists.

Sporting larger tires than even the massive GMC Hummer EV, Texas Toot first won a regional round that took place in Houston, moving up through the brackets until Jay Leno, Magnus Walker, and others crowned it the winner on a special episode of Jay Leno's Garage, which you can watch in full below.

The Texas Toot was built from a tiny Autozam Scrum - a Japanese Kei-class pickup truck.

The owner and builder, Craig Meanx, was gifted a set of tractor tires and decided to do something with them. We like to think his gaze fell on the Scrum as a lightbulb appeared overhead. Obviously, drivetrain loss would be massive with the huge tires, not to mention the lift kit that Meanx would eventually fit.

So, the Scrum's 38 horsepower 660cc motor was tossed in favor of something more Texan: a Chevy 454 V8. That, paired with a five-foot lift and the massive 30-inch wheels, gives Texas Toot monster truck power and looks. The result is a car that looks like it was built just to win the Legends Tour.

These details are already absurd enough, but the little things make Meanx's build.

Take, for example, the roof-mounted train horns. Because a 7.4-liter V8 isn't enough power for something already so absurd, Meanx also fitted a 250-shot nitrous kit. That, along with all of the work on Texas Toot, was done by Meanx himself in his garage.

With his win cemented for the Hot Wheels Legends Tour, Meanx will see his creation all over the country, joining the winner from 2021 in die-cast immortality.

Hot Wheels has said that the Texas Toot Hot Wheel would be available anywhere you can already buy Hot Wheels by fall 2023.
