We've seen it in movies and now you may start seeing the real life version thanks to California traffic jams.
We've all seen fictional future car scenes depicting traffic that looks like nothing more than organized chaos. Cars are constantly in movement, zig-zagging in all directions, and most importantly no-one ever seems to slow down, let alone stop at a traffic light. Thanks to real life traffic jams in the Los Angeles area that are almost insufferable, a new technological team is figuring out ways to solve traffic woes in the area.
Using advanced technologies, traffic authorities are starting to monitor live groups of oncoming traffic and manually controling traffic signals to determine which groups need green lights and for how long. The result is a 16% more optimized traffic flow. The video also shows us how future traffic might look like.
