Blowing the Crowd Away at NASCAR

This is what it looks and sounds like to witness a field of NASCAR stock cars roaring by at nearly 200 mph.

NASCAR racing is fast, with speeds approaching 200 mph on the super-speedways. A single car moving at that pace can cause a lot of turbulence, so you can imagine what a whole pack of them running at speed must feel like. It’s almost like a tornado, only the fans' homes are still there when they go back to the trailer park. The gust of wind that literally pushes a lady back into another guy pretty much says it all, as anyone who's ever stood trackside at a race could tell you.

While this little old lady emerges just fine, imagine what would happen to all those fans in the event of a crash. And let's face it: there are a lot of crashes in NASCAR.
