Last month we learned of something truly horrific: a brand-new 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 experienced a catastrophic engine failure. No modifications had been performed and there were just 891 miles on the odometer. The owner even respected the 500-mile break-in period. But today we have an update on the guy's story. After working with GM and his local Chevy dealership, the Z06 owner was able to get a new LT4 V8 engine installed. Props to GM for resolving this quickly and fairly. And now, low and behold, the Z06 is as good as new.

In fact, the issue was resolved quickly enough that the owner was able to put in a new break-in period round ahead of a track day event he had been planning to attend for some time. The video ahead came directly from the Z06's Performance Data Recorder. Like we said, this thing is as good as new.
