BMW's answer to the Mercedes CLA is here, and it's fair to say it's had a mixed reception so far. While the 2 Series Coupe and M2 Competition are beloved by enthusiasts, the new 2 Series Gran Coupe feels like a step backwards. It's only available with all-wheel drive in the US and the styling leaves a lot to be desired. However, if the standard 2 Series Coupe looks too sedate for you, BMW is offering a range of M Performance parts that will be available when the car goes on sale in November.

To enhance the exterior, the 2 Series Gran Coupe and be equipped with an M rear spoiler in high-gloss black, which also optimizes the airflow around the car and reduces lift to improve the driving dynamics.

High-gloss black model inscriptions and M Performance stainless steel tailpipes with carbon fiber casing enhance the rear aesthetic, and a high-gloss black mesh-style ornamental grille makes the front-end look more menacing. Carbon fiber exterior mirror caps are also available.

The interior can also be upgraded with M Performance parts. The highlight is an M Performance steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara for extra grip with a red center, and silver cross-stitching. The shift paddles of the M Performance steering wheel can also be upgraded with carbon fiber fabric instead of the standard chrome surface for versions of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe with a seven-speed double-clutch, eight-speed Steptronic or eight-speed Steptronic sports transmission. Other interior upgrades available include M Performance floor mats.

BMW isn't only offering cosmetic upgrades, either. The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe can also be equipped with M Performance brakes with larger, inner-vented and perforated discs offering a superior braking response. Additionally, the compact sedan can be fitted with 18- or 19-inch wheels for a sportier look. Door-mounted LED door projectors, a key holder made of Alcantara, and M Performance tire bags round off the available upgrades.
