If you can't wait for the M4, the full set of M Performance parts will soon be available for the new 4 Series.
While we wait for the upcoming M4, BMW has given a taste of what's to come by unveiling the 4 Series wearing the M Performance parts. Revealed at a press launch in Lisbon, Portugal, the standout item from the performance part catalogue is an optional limited slip differential. A clutch type unit, the LSD will features a 30 percent lockup and eventually be offered on other models if demand is high on the 4er. Other mechanical upgrades include a new exhaust system, brakes, 10-mm lowered suspension and 20-inch M Performance wheels.
A Power Kit will boost output across the range, with the 3.0-liter turbo-six in the 435i boosted to 336 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque, up from 302 hp and 295 lb-ft. M Performance aero parts include a carbon-fiber front splitter, rear spoiler and diffuser, and mirror caps, as well as blacked-out side skirts and kidney grilles. Deeper M Sport Package bumpers are required to house the front splitter and rear diffuser, while inside buyers can opt for carbon and alcantara trim, a redesigned three-spoke steering wheel, sports seats, and stainless-steel pedals and footrest. The F32 M Performance Parts will be available from November and the M4 is expected to bow at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
