BMW has arrived in Detroit showcasing the 6 Series facelift, with the mid-life makeover revealed on the coupe, convertible, Gran Coupe and M6. Lightly refreshed styling includes a modified front bumper, new headlights with LED main beams, a modestly altered kidney grille, new alloy designs and revised rear bumper. The more extensive changes take place inside, where two-tone leather options are now available and higher quality surface materials come as standard.

Tweaks made to the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 in the 650i has reduced the 0-62 mph time by 0.3 to 4.6 seconds for all bodystyles, while fuel economy has also improved. All gasoline engines come with a sports exhaust with switchable flaps to control decibels, and all 6 Series cars receive an Eco Pro mode that offers start/stop and engine coasting for improved efficiency. The 552-hp BMW M6 remains as capable as before, with minor tweaks made to the suspension and steering.
