No more boring black and white.
Luxury automakers, especially German ones, tend to offer more conservative paint options like white, silver, grey, and black. These dull colors are quicker for dealerships to sell, and American shoppers almost always fear resale value when buying an exciting hue. On occasion, however, German automakers will offer a few unique options for customers who want an exciting paint job.
The BMW Individual paint program offers almost any color you can imagine (for a price); the company also selects a few of the more popular options that you can order for a less exorbitant fee. For fall 2020, BMW Individual added a few new hues to the available roster, including one for the recently-announced 2021 BMW 4 Series Coupe.
The 4 Series now offers a color called San Remo Green (pictured above), which reminds us of Nori Green Pearl from Lexus. The M3 and M4 also introduce some exciting new paint options, including Isle of Man Green and Sao Paolo Yellow. The BMW Individual program has also been expanded for the trio of South Carolina-built SUV models, including the X5, X6, and X7.
All three can now come finished in Individual shades such as Grigio Telesto, Urban Green, Frozen Black, Petrol Mica, Ruby Red, Avus Blue, and British Racing Green. Avus Blue is our personal favorite of the bunch, especially when paired with the blue brake calipers on the M50i model.
While we won't receive the iX3 here in the US, BMW still offers the i3 and i3S, which can now be ordered in Cashmere Silver with BMW i Blue accents, Galvanic Gold (pictured above) with Frozen Grey metallic accents, and Fluid Black with Frozen Grey metallic accents, just like the iX3.
Should you wish to view any of these colors with different trims and wheels, head to the BMW Individual Manufaktur Online Visualizer and have some fun.
