Preliminary testing for modest cosmetic changes already underway.
The current (F30) generation of the BMW 3-Series has onlybeen on the market since 2012, but already, Bimmer is working on a Life CycleImpulse (LCI) update for the car, especially due to its fresh competition fromthe Mercedes-Benz C Class. The refreshed 3-Series will gain several newengines, including a variety of 3-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines sourcedfrom the new Mini. It will also get the 5-Series' traffic jam assistant system.
Cosmetically, the sedan will gain a new front bumper withrenewed air intakes, optional full LED headlights and changed rear lightgraphics. The updated 3-Series should be unveiled with additional tech updatesby early 2015. Check out our spy shots directly from Europe.
