BMW Expands Active Tourer Lineup – AWD and New Engines

Diesel

New additions go on sale in November.

Although we all love to hate it, BMW obviously has high hopes for the 2 Series Active Tourer model. The company has just announced that it will add three additional engines to the car/crossover/minivan/wagon's lineup, in addition to adding the availability of an all-wheel drive system on higher-end models. The 220i will feature a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine producing 189 horsepower, while the 220d will put out 187 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque from its 2.0-liter diesel.

The 216d Active Tourer will feature a 1.5-liter three-cylinder diesel producing 113 hp and 199 lb-ft of torque. In addition to the new engines, BMW has announced its intention to add all-wheel drive availability to the 220d and 225i. So after hearing all that, now do you want one?
