Not every sports car is made for drag racing. Some are just better than others. But sometimes it's the driver who's not doing something right. And we think that may be the case regarding this particular drag race. In fact, it's kind of unusual. Why's that? Let's look at the contenders: a Porsche Cayman GT4, Lexus RC F, BMW i8, and a BMW M4. About all they have in common is that they're all coupes. Not going into their specific differences, what turned out to be interesting here was why the M4 was quite a bit slower than the other three?

What we know is that its Launch Controls system was shut off to keep things fair; the GT4, for example, doesn't have LC. But the M4 is already fast without the electronics, so what was the problem here. We think it's driver error.
