Despite making very limited sales projections for the i8, BMW seems to have a lot riding on the success of its new hybrid sports car. At least when it comes to selling its image as a revolutionary,ground-breaking company. BMW plans to use the stunning i8 as the highly-photogenic posterchild for its new family of i vehicles, and is doing so with the help ofa trilogy of commercials directed by Oscar-nominated director Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting, Milk).
The first spot is called “Powerful Idea,” and featuresthe voice Sam Hazeldine (Resurrection):
