BMW i8s Actually GAIN 50% Once They're Driven Off the Lot

There'll be at least one hopeless Brit willing to pay a 50 percent premium for one.

With demand for the new BMW i8 hybrid sports car skyrocketing and dealership waiting lists keeping potential buyers waiting for months, those who have actually managed to drive off in one of the first models seem to have taken home an instant money-maker. According to Magnitude Finance, a British vehicle financing company, one client sold the i8 he had just bought for £95,000 (including £5,000 government plug-in grant), for a staggering £140,000.

It seems the original buyer earned a 50 percent premium over the original price for simply handing over the keys to his new exotic. Magnitude Finance reported that the new owner was excited to become the owner of a "timeless classic," while the seller was, obviously, ecstatic at the prospect of such a great return on investment.
