Like last year's Tiger Edition that was received extremely well, BMW decided to build with yet another unique M3 for China, called the Matte Edition. Buyers will have a choice of either gunmetal grey or black for exterior colors which combine a metallic finish with a silky matte clear coat.

There are also black chrome side air intakes and exhaust tail pipes, red brake calipers, and lightweight 19-inch high-gloss alloy wheels. The interior features plenty of carbon fiber trim and special black carbon fiber leather seats with contrasting red seams for the seat edges and door armrests. Power is provided by the same naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter V8 with 420 hp found in the M3 lineup. Neither pricing nor an exact build number has been given.
