Set to enter production this November, BMW's upcoming M235i coupe has just been spotted running laps at the famed Nurburgring by our spy photographers. Like the M135i hatchback on which it's based, the new coupe is expected to be powered by a 3.0-liter inline-six that's good for 315 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. More than likely the sole transmission offering will be an eight-speed automatic gearbox but we wouldn't rule out a manual transmission option just yet.

The coupe will likely share also its dual exhaust pipes with its M135i cousin, and will feature a rear spoiler along with various M Performance bits like an aggressive aero kit, upgraded wheels, and blue brake calipers. More than likely, a convertible version will launch at some point down the road. For those who missed out on getting their hands on the beloved (and now discontinued) 1 M Coupe, the M235i is being planned as its direct spiritual successor, but we'll have to wait and see whether it can measure up to what was one of BMW's finest M machines ever.
