BMW M3 Runs 11.66-Sec Quarter Mile

Quarter Mile

The hi-po sedan is quicker than we thought.

Ditching the naturally-aspirated V8 for an inline-six, the new BMW M3 may have dropped a couple of cylinders but it’s faster and more fun to drive than ever. The F80 M3 comes powered by a 425-hp 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six which, when mated to a seven-speed twin-clutch box, takes just 4.1 seconds to reach 60 mph and is said to hit the quarter-mile in the low twelves. The owner of this particular model wanted to know for sure, so took it to the Atco Raceway where he ran the quarter-mile in 11.66 seconds at 119.24 mph.

Check out the blistering run here, where launch control, the DCT, 103 octane, and the notoriously quick track all combined to achieve a hugely impressive time.
