BMW has just made public the details regarding the M-Sport Package for the upcoming X1. If you recall, the X1 is the small baby 'ute BMW is launching in order to take advantage of an emerging demand for small, luxury SUVs (SAV, according to BMW-speak). With the X1 arriving in dealerships shortly, customers who are anxious for the M package will have to wait until this Spring, at the earliest.

From the pictures BMW has released, the X1 features the standard M aerodynamics package that includes M door sills, High Gloss Shadow Line, and standard 17-inch double spoke alloy wheels (18-inch is optional). Other features include a sport suspension and several new colors such as Alpine White, LeMans Blue, and Space Gray, amongst others. The interior includes sport seats adorned in cloth and Alcantara, an M leather-trimmed steering wheel with multifunction buttons, and dark cross-brushed aluminum trim.

A six-speed manual transmission will also be standard. No word has been given on exact pricing, but it will most likely be somewhere between too much and not worth it.
