BMW has revealed its new M4 Coupe DTM safety car ahead of the new season. Based on the standard M4, the safety car features a range of BMW M Performance Parts including carbon-fiber front splitter, mirror caps, rear spoiler and rear diffuser. It also sports DTM livery, a black grille, aerodynamic side skirts and roof-mounted emergency lights. Chassis upgrades are Iimited to a KW coilover suspension and titanium exhaust.

Inside, the cabin is fitted with Recaro race seats, Schroth harnesses, carbon-fiber trim, a race communication system and a roll cage where the rear seats normally are. Power continues to be delivered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder rated at 431 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, with 0-62 mph coming in at 4.1 seconds when mated to a M double-clutch transmission.
