BMW is getting their M3s ready for the 2012 DTM season. The German racing series will see six M3s compete in this year's season and this is the latest racer revealed in full racing guise. The BMW M3 in Castrol Edge livery made its debut in Munich and it takes its motivation from an air-restricted V8. Its powerplant is limited to 473hp and it can reach a top speed of 186mph. With a 0-62mph time of about three seconds, it packs some real performance to back its blue and green appearance.

"For many years we have put our faith in high-performance Castrol lubricants, and have celebrated countless successes together on the racetrack. For that reason, everyone here at BMW Motorsport is delighted that we are able to build on this established partnership in the DTM. Castrol EDGE and Aral Ultimate are high-performance brands, which suit our DTM project perfectly," said BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt. The DTM-spec BMW M3 is sponsored by both Castrol and Aral Ultimate.
