BMW’s ongoing megalomania has now been mutated into a new ad, aired at the Sochi Winter Olympics and featuring the upcoming i8 EV. BMW quotes the 1964 predictions of the future by Arthur C. Clarke, boasting its "unreasonable, unbelievable" 2015 hybrid sports car. But what does the i8 bring that hasn’t already been done in the Toyota Prius? Other than promising better performance than the Prius, Nissan Leaf and its own i3, the i8 hasn’t exposed all that much groundbreaking future technology.
But it is a great looking car, which may be reason enough to watch BMW's narcissistic ad.
