The new-for-2014 BMW X5 brought a spanking design update for the company's large SUV. While BMW USA hadn't stated any intention to offer the car with the M Performance package, the company has just announced that the upgraded kit will soon make its way to America. The program adds exterior trims, like 21-inch wheels, carbon fiber spoilers and black kidney grilles, and interior features including Alcantara sports steering wheel with carbon-fiber accents and steel pedals.

The package also adds performance components such as improved throttle response, and an engine and chassis upgrade offering 20 additional horsepower and 32 extra lb-ft of torque on the xDrive35i. This will bring performance up to 320 hp and 332 lb-ft. The parts will be covered by BMW factory warranty, but they won't come cheap. According to the company website, the double-spoke wheels alone will add $5,995 (excluding tax) to the xDrive35i's $55,100 base price. Expensive though it may be, the M Performance X5 is still looking pretty hot in these pics.
