BMW Talks i8 Aerodynamics

Testing

Yep, it's slippery. Now please do some burnouts.

The mechanics of things like weight savings and aerodynamics don’t always get a lot of attention when discussing either performance or fuel economy. That’s probably because these are things which are improved by degrees, and what most of it boils down to is endless fussing by engineers. But quite a lot of special effort was made by BMW in the aerodynamics department for the upcoming i8, and the following video was made to make certain we know about it.

It is interesting, although perhaps not the sexiest video we’ve ever seen. There are a lot of German engineers talking about airflow and it’s set to bottomlessly awful music. But it is still an impressive result.
