The BMW 7 Series is a monster of a car, both in size and luxury. While many would be more than satisfied with something along the lines of a 3 or 5 Series, there are those who simply require more. Among that group, even the so-called "base" 7 Series sedan isn't enough. Although they don't offer an M7 (yet), BMW is prepared to help those buyers out with a 7 Series trim that'll satisfy their need to spend hoards of cash on their car. Enter the 2013 BMW Alpina B7, the second generation of this super-high performance luxury sedan.

Powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that produces 540hp and 538lb-ft of torque, it's mated to a new eight-speed high-performance automatic transmission that sends power to either the rear wheels or an optional xDrive all-wheel-drive system. All told, power is up by an additional 40hp and 22lb-ft over the outgoing model. BMW claims it has a top speed of 194 mph (the xDrive tops off at 193 mph), which is another improvement over the previous version's not too shabby 175 mph top speed. It's also claimed that it can go from 0 to 60 mph in either 4.3 or 4.4 seconds.

Also offered in both Standard and Long Wheelbase, BMW has added 30 new parts which supposedly enhances the design and frontal aerodynamics by more effectively channeling the cooling air that's needed to handle the increased power. There are also new signature kidney grilles, updated Xenon Adaptive headlights, LED front fog lights, and updated tail lights. Buyers can also opt for full LED headlights, and a Bang & Olufsen surround sound system. Like before, there are those signature 21-inch, 20-spoke Alpina wheels to make the car's visual appearance even more dominant.

The asking price for this German luxury performance fun package: $127,600, and that's just for the rear-wheel-drive, short wheelbase version. The xDrive runs for $136,600, while the long-wheelbase will set you back by either $131,500 or $134,500, respectively. The new B7 Alpina will be making its official premiere this August at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
