Limited to just 500 examples in total.
It's a busy time for BMW as the Bavarian automaker will present several new models within the next few months. Last week saw the unveiling of the new 5 Series facelift, which will be followed by the debut of the new 4 Series next week on June 2 and the M5 facelift next month. Looking further ahead, the new BMW M3 and M4 will break cover in September.
But this doesn't mean BMW is neglecting its current model lineup. The Bavarian automaker has unveiled new special-edition versions of the BMW X2, BMW 3 Series, and BMW Z4 dubbed the 'Edition Sunrise.' The catch? You can't buy them in the US because they are only available in Japan.
According to BMW, the special-edition models symbolize "hopes of a day when the world will regain its spirit and start running," which is a fitting sentiment during the current crisis. Each Edition Sunrise BMW is finished in Alpine White with a red line running across the side and door mirrors.
Based on the xDrive18d M Sport, the BMW X2 Edition Sunrise will be limited to just 200 examples. In addition to exclusive Edition Sunrise exterior, it comes with 19-inch M wheels, the M aerodynamics package, an M rear lip spoiler, M leather steering wheel, the BMW Individual high gloss shadow line, and aluminum hexagon trim. Pricing starts at ¥5,540,000 ($51,404), with customer deliveries slated to start this month.
The BMW 3 Series Edition Sunrise, on the other hand, is based on the 320d xDrive M Sport. Like the X2 Edition Sunrise, production will be limited to just 200 units. As well as the exclusive exterior, it features an M rear spoiler, 19-inch M alloy wheels finished in jet black, and Verneska leather seats. The BMW 3 Series Edition Sunrise finished in Alpina White will cost ¥6,870,000 ($63,744). An additional 50 examples of the BMW 3 Series Edition Sunrise will be available finished in Melbourne Red with a ¥7,030,000 ($65,229) price tag. Deliveries of the 3 Series Edition Sunrise will start this fall.
Limited to only 50 examples, the BMW Z4 sDrive20i M Sport will be the rarest car in the Edition Sunrise series. It also rides on 19-inch M wheels finished in jet black and will cost ¥7,400,000 ($68,662). Deliveries of the BMW Z4 Edition Sunrise will start in June.
