European automakers produce some epically fast vehicles – four-door sedans among them. While many have set blistering lap times around the benchmark Nürburgring Nordschleife, the fastest among them is the Jaguar XE SV Project 8.

The super-cat clocked a lap time of 7:21.23 at the Green Hell almost a year ago, bringing all its 600 metric horsepower to bear. Unfortunately few were on hand to witness the feat first-hand. But if you weren't among them, you'll now be able to book a ride in one as part of Jaguar's Race Taxi program.

The most extreme road-going Jaguar to date is based (however loosely) on the compact XE luxury sports sedan, but pushed to the ragged edge by JLR's Special Vehicle Operations division. It wears carbon-fiber bodywork, an adjustable aero pack and suspension, and the small matter of a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 kicking out a downright insane 592 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque – the most that British automaker has ever squeezed out of its celebrated engine. The result: a 0-60 mph time of 3.3 seconds, a top speed of 200 miles per hour, and that paramount Nürburgring lap time.

Now you'll be able to experience it for yourself – albeit from the passenger seat. Which is just as well, because you'll want a pro to take you on what's sure to be the ride of your life.

For better or worse, though, you'll be the only passenger on board. Because while the Project 8 is technically still a four-door sedan, the team at SVO ditched the rear seats in an effort to save weight. Parties of three, however, can still book a ride (until the track closes for the season in mid-November) in the bigger XJR 575 sedan, which still has its rear bench in place.
