When it comes to buying a crate engine for your project car, you'd have a hard time finding better value for money than Ford's 5.0 V8. Well, now there's another one to consider, the Boss 302 crate engine. That's right, the 444 horsepower V8 from Ford's new track-ready Mustang is now available for $11,999. This isn't just a new camshaft in a 5.0, (although, ok, it does have a new camshaft) very few parts for the 5.0 can be found in the 302.
The 302 has a high-flow intake manifold, CNC-machined heads, new exhaust valves and forged pistons, rods and crankshaft. All of this not only makes the Boss 302 more powerful, but also much stronger, and able to withstand the rigors of being driven hard for extended periods. So whatever project you have out in your garage, if it has room for a V8, consider this one.
