As Mercedes-Benz's in-house tuner, Brabus has become the best – and safest – bet for aftermarket products and tuning on nearly all current-day Mercedes models. But now, these Germans want you to know that they are also the authority on the company's products of old. To prove that, they're now showcasing six restored models at the Techno Classica show in Essen. The company says it has taken the cars apart "to the last nut and bolt" before meticulously restoring each model.

The cars on display include the 280 SL - including a W 111 and W 113 Pagoda - in addition to a 280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet, a 560 SL (R 107) and the rolling chassis from a Gullwing 300 SL. Brabus restorations include full inspection, cataloging and reconditioning of every part, in addition to engine, transmission, drive-shaft and differential overhauls. Suspension and brakes are replaced, and wood trim and leather are reconditioned and reupholstered. The company guarantees that this process "doesn't come cheap", as it includes thousands of work hours from beginning to end. But the results are absolutely breathtaking.
