Like the new C63 needed more power.
It goes without saying, you can never have too much horsepower. And those that think the base Mercedes-AMG C63 S' 503 hp rating is a little low, can now get the PowerXtra B40 - 600 power kit from Brabus. The insane tuning company's package increases the C63 S' twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 output to a whopping 591 hp, which is 88 hp more than stock. How's that for a power increase? Along with the power increase comes a healthy dosage of torque.
The C63 S' powerful engine produces 516 lb-ft of torque right out of the box, but Brabus' kit raises that figure to 590 lb-ft. The power upgrades means the kit aids the sedan in getting to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds and onto a top speed of 186 mph. Remarkably, Brabus has managed to harness this extra power through new mapping for injection and ignition, along with an increase in boost pressure. In addition to the performance kit, Brabus is also offering interested buyers an aero package developed in the wind tunnel. Brabus' aero kit is manufactured from clear-coated carbon with a shiny or matte surface seal.
The C63 S' standard front bumper can be fitted with a spoiler lip, while carbon surrounds find their way on the side air intakes. At the back, the C63 S gets a rear spoiler and a diffuser with clear-coated carbon covers for the mirrors as options, as well. Brabus will also be offering interior upgrades for the C63 S including fine Mastik leather, stainless-steel scuff plates, Alcantara and a color-changing backlit Brabus logo. A vehicle with the entire Brabus kit will be on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show, while the kit is available for both sedan and the wagon body styles.
