When the Bugatti Bolide was unveiled back in October of 2020, we were stunned, not only by its insane performance potential but also its spectacular design. This blue-blooded hypercar might be a stunner, but the majority of its exterior design is functional and helps the car chase its 300-mph+ top speed. The Bolide has now been deemed the "most beautiful hypercar of the year" by the prestigious Festival Automobile International in Paris. The Bolide was voted into the top spot by a panel of experts and beat the other finalists, including the BAC Mono 2, Gordon Murray's T50, and Mercedes-Benz AMG One by a large margin. Somehow, we are not surprised at all.

The Festival Automobile International, now in its 36th year, judges the world's most exotic cars based on beauty, aesthetics, form, and design, and this year's panel consisted of 14 judges. The event was chaired by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte and Anne Asensio, Vice President of Design Experience at Dassault Systemes. The team behind the Bolide was overjoyed that its hard work and vision were recognized: "We are extraordinarily proud that the Festival Automobile International judges were as enthusiastic about the design of the Bugatti Bolide as Bugatti fans all around the world," said Bugatti president Stephan Winkelmann. "Our focus has always been on innovation and aesthetics from the very beginning. Receiving this award is an affirmation of our work."

The Bolide is much, much more than just a pretty face, however. Borrowing its 8.0-liter W16 engine from the Bugatti Chiron, this hypercar pushes out 1,824 horsepower and 1,364 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to some cutting-edge weight-saving tech, the Bolide weighs only 2,734 pounds, and its top speed has been calculated at just over 310 mph. Achim Anscheidt, Design Director at Bugatti reaffirms the fact that this car is truly a masterpiece: "The Bugatti Bolide has been both the greatest joy and the greatest challenge of my 17-year career in Bugatti Design. It is the clearest demonstration of our motto 'Form follows performance'". This is a well-deserved win for Bugatti.
