Special edition supercar marks an important milestone.
Any car with a Bugatti badge is special but some are more special than others. The original Bugatti Chiron was already an incredibly fast car with a top speed of 261 mph but the company decided to push even further with the limited-edition Chiron Super Sport 300+, which could hit 304 mph. Only 30 examples of the Super Sport 300+ will be built and they are all sold out. Although it may not be able to go over 300 mph, Bugatti has just built another Chiron that is special in its own right.
At the company's factory in Molsheim, Bugatti just finished work on the 250th Chiron three years after the first one was delivered. After this 250th car, the Chiron is officially in the second half of its production run. 250 cars will be built and over 150 have already been paid for meaning there are fewer than 100 left.
The 250th car is called the Chiron Sport "Edition Noire Sportive" and it will be shown on a special Bugatti display at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show. Differentiating the Noire Sportive is a matte black exposed carbon fiber finish that looks positively sinister. Even when you step inside, this Chiron is completely devoid of color, creating a stealthy look for this insanely quick car. Since this is a Chiron Sport, the 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine outputs 1,600 horsepower going to all four wheels.
"Every Chiron that has left our Atelier in the past three years is a technological masterpiece. This also applies to the 250th specimen. Reaching this mark in such a short amount of time is an amazing accomplishment that fills me with pride. I am looking forward to the second half of the production cycle", said Bugatti CEO Stephan Winkelmann. "After a year full of records, this 250th Chiron represents the cornerstone for another year of extraordinary accomplishments. Every single Chiron has proven that we are rightfully standing at the pinnacle of automotive craftsmanship."
