Bugatti is a brand that revels in excess. More power, more speed, and in the case of the Chiron Pur Sport, more agility. So what better place to let customers get a feel for the car for the first time than Dubai, the capital of all things excessive? Final developmentof the sportiest and best handling Bugatti ever began a couple of months ago, and now the French brand is ready to let the world see exactly how its latest Chiron performs.
Considering that there's still a global pandemic underway, loyal customers of the brand may have missed out on the opportunity to experience this machine in the metal, but Bugatti felt that a digital experience would have been underwhelming.
Stephan Winkelmann, President of Bugatti, was having none of that: "We wanted to personally present the Chiron Pur Sport to our loyal customers in the United Arab Emirates despite the Covid-19 pandemic. We will of course comply with the recommendations of the World Health Organisation (WHO) at the presentation."
People needed to feel the car to truly understand it, as Winkelmann continues: "The most agile member of the Chiron family demands more than just a theoretical explanation via video stream or digital video conference. Customers must drive the Chiron Pur Sport and experience the incredible power and lateral dynamics for themselves."
In case the Chiron Pur Sport's astounding specs have escaped your memory, here's a little refresher. It's powered by the familiar 1,479-horsepower 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine found in the regular Chiron, but here its top speed is limited to 218 mph. But, it is lighter, has shorter ratios, and features suspension upgrades to make it truly capable on the track. These enhancements have meant that it can do the sprint from 0-62 mph in just 2.3 seconds, but we surely hope that at least one of the 60 lucky buyers of the Pur Sport use it as intended and take it home - to a circuit.
