2019 was a significant year for Bugatti. The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ became the first production car in the world to break the 300-mph barrier, beating Koenigsegg and Hennessey. Several special-edition hypercars also joined the Chiron family, including the one-off Bugatti La Voiture Noire, which is the most expensive car in the world costing $18 million, and the Bugatti Centodieci inspired by the EB110 from the 1990s.

Just a few days into the new year, Bugatti announced that a big reveal coming in 2020. Posted on Bugatti's Instagram page is a photo teasing a mystery new hypercar hiding under a sheet.

"2020. Year of the Bugatti," the caption reads. Bugatti hasn't shared any details about the mystery hypercar or a reveal date, so we don't have much to go on at this point.

Question is, are we looking at an all-new model or another special edition version of the Chiron? It's hard to tell since the design details aren't visible. The headlights look slimmer than the standard Chiron, but the overall shape appears to resemble the hypercar. It could be a new bespoke version built for a wealthy client or a new hypercar based on the Chiron's platform like the Divo.

However, declaring that 2020 will be "the year of Bugatti" suggests this new model will mark the start of a new era for the company. This means Bugatti could be teasing its long-awaited second model that will be sold alongside the Chiron. Bugatti's all-new model is expected to be an electric grand-tourer adopting either a sedan or crossover body style with seating for four occupants. It will also be cheaper than the Chiron with an estimated price of $554,000 to $1.1 million.

Either way, we should find out what Bugatti is teasing soon. Chances are that Bugatti's mystery new model will debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show in March, but nothing is official at this point. What do you think Bugatti is planning to reveal this year? Let the speculation begin.
