Bugatti reveals footage of roadster on its 254-mph world record run.
257.87 mph is officially the fastest any production car has gone. The speed was reached by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport a couple of years ago, and while Guinness stripped the supercar of its "world’s fastest" title for a couple of weeks, it has since been restored to stand as the benchmark the likes of SSC, Hennessey and Koenigsegg will attempt to surpass in the near future. Bugatti also holds the title of "world’s fastest roadster", set by the open-top Grand Sport Vitesse at VW's Ehra-Lessien proving grounds.
The French carmaker made the world-record run a couple of weeks prior to the WRC edition’s debut in Shanghai. Chinese racing driver Anthony Liu piloted the Bugatti as it clocked 254 mph (408.84 km/h), footage of which you can now see right here.
