Bugatti builds some of the finest and most expensive hypercars in the world. The Chiron program has been a huge success and we can't wait for the 2024 Bolide, a 1,850 horsepower, W16-engined hypercar weighing just under 3,200 pounds with a $4.72 million price tag. Obviously, most people can't afford a Bugatti, even a used Veyron. But now, the French carmaker is introducing something with a significantly lower price tag. Introducing Bugatti's first electric scooter, the result of a partnership with Brooklyn-based Bytech International.

Designed and built "with the everyday consumer in mind," this electric and foldable scooter, which debuted last week at CES in Las Vegas, boasts a unique aerodynamic design, weighs only 35 pounds, and has a top speed of - wait for it - 18 mph. It has a magnesium alloy frame, a large LED screen that displays data like speed, mode, battery life, and headlights.

The 700w motor provides the necessary juice, and Bugatti and Bytech claim it can conquer any type of terrain with a 15-degree incline and comes with 9-inch run-flat tires, three speeds with cruise control, and a 36v/10ah battery with a range of around 22 miles. The motor also has over-heating, short circuit, and overcharge protection. The battery itself is portable and can be easily removed for charging using the standard wall outlet.

A major emphasis was placed on safety with things like dual-turn signals located on the handle grips and above the rear mudguard, illuminated base lights on the sides of the deck, and, at the rear, an "EB" monogram projection logo. There's also a dual-braking system consisting of a front left-hand brake lever and rear E-ABS electronic brake.

Bugatti and Bytech claim the scooter has a total weight capacity of 242 pounds with three "drive" modes: Economy, City, and Sport. The maximum speed in each are 9 mph, 12.5 mph, and 18.5 mph, respectively. "Bugatti is at the pinnacle of automotive excellence," said Wiebke Stahl, Managing Director at Bugatti International. "Partnering with a company such as Bytech gives us an opportunity to expand our reach in the electric mobility space with an experienced partner and a product that can be enjoyed by consumers around the world."

No information was given regarding an on-sale date nor pricing but we highly doubt it'll cost anywhere near a Bugatti hypercar. Instead, it'll probably be an expensive EV scooter.
