While the all-new 2020 Buick Encore GX is the premium brand's latest model, let's not forget about one of its best-sellers, the Buick Encore. Similar name, different vehicles. The Encore has been around since 2012 and has become a core part of Buick's sales surge. Its traditional sedans will soon be gone. The subcompact crossover segment, especially premium vehicles, continues to not only grow but is becoming increasingly competitive, hence the new Encore GX.

Still, the Encore itself is not going anywhere, at least not yet, and Buick is currently offering some very nice discounts this month for both 2019 and 2020 models. What's more, these discounts are not limited to current GM owners; everyone is welcome.

There's currently a retail offer on the 2019 Encore, excluding the 1SV base model, for $4,250 consumer cash. Prefer to finance? There's $500 plus 0 percent APR for 72 months, though this again excludes the base model and buyers must finance through GM Financial.

Though the 2020 Encore differs very little from the 2019 model, Buick has still decided to cut its price tag, though it's not as generous. The 2020 Encore is being offered with $2,500 consumer cash, though only for the Preferred AWD models. The same trim also applies for the financing offer: 0 percent APR for 72 months and again with GM Financial.

These offers are only good for another few days, specifically until February 3.

What's interesting about the 2019 Encore retail discount is that it actually makes the Sport Touring trim price lower than the non-discounted 1SV base model, which starts at $24,195. The 2019 Encore Sport Touring normally goes for at least $26,795, but subtract the $4,250 consumer cash and you're looking at a new price of $22,545.

Sometimes opting for the previous model year and a slightly outdated though still competitive vehicle is the smarter way to go, financially speaking.
